FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

GENERAL

  • Although we have tested the cart using heavier weights, the rated capacity is 225 lbs.  We advise customers not to exceed 225 lbs for warranty purposes and safety.

  • The talon cart has a 48V10Ah lithium battery pack.  Battery use is always dependent upon terrain, elevation/slope and payload.  However, our customers regularly see 10 miles on a single charge and haul out several deer during the season before needing to top off the battery.  We’re certain that if you go into a hunt with a full charge, you will NOT run out of charge getting your deer back to the truck.

  • Hills and steep inclines are no problem for the Talon cart.  It will pull the deer up with no push assistance from the operator needed, you will even feel the cart tugging you up hill by the handlebars.  The single-track design helps navigate around and over logs and other barriers.  In a nutshell, the Talon is capable of conquering nearly any terrain a hunter encounters.

  • The integrated LCD and controller have 5 speeds and an infinitely variable thumb throttle control.  Meaning you can adjust speed and power on the fly based on terrain and weight needs.  It sounds complicated, but trust us, it’s very simple.

  • The exposed thumb throttle and LCD are waterproof from rain and snow.  The motor is water resistant, but you should avoid fully submerging it above the axle in deeper bodies of water.  Crossing 6” or less creeks, snow, mud, etc are no problem for the Talon.  The welded aluminum and powder coated frame will not rust.

BATTERY & CHARGING

  • Simply open the electronics box, unplug the battery and carefully remove it from the cart being sure to not drop or damage it and plug it into the supplied charger.  Charge time depends on the battery level, usually 4-6 hours for a full charge.  See our battery care section for addition precautions regarding safe handling and storage of lithium batteries.

  • The cart can freewheel and be manually pushed if the battery dies in the field, like a traditional cart.  Additional spare battery packs can be purchased from Raptor Outdoors.  But if you keep an eye on your battery level before leaving for the hunt and keep it topped off above 75% charge, it’s highly unlikely you will run out of battery.

  • See our battery care section for additional precautions regarding safe handling and storage of lithium batteries.
